  • Playing Career

    Terry Porter was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 1985. In his 10 years with the Blazers, Porter went to the NBA Finals twice. After leaving the Blazers, Porter played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs. Porter retired in 2002 and was hired as an assistant coach of the Sacramento Kings in 2002. In 2003, Porter was named head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, but was fired in 2005. After working as an assistant for the Detroit Pistons, Porter was named head coach of the Suns in 2008 after the departure of Mike D'Dantoni.NBA.com: Terry Porter
