Terry Leon Blankenship was sentenced to eight years in prison following conviction of child pornography. Blankenship was found to be in possession of hundreds of images on his computer.
The Investigation
A joint investigation was conducted in 2007 between the West Virginia State Police's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Mercer County Sheriff's Department after the police department got a call that Blankenship was involved in downloading child pornography online. After a forensics investigation discovered over 600 images and videos of a pornographic nature with children, Blankenship was taken into custody. Blankenship plead guilty in December 2008 and was sentenced in May 2009.
