Terry Farrell was a New York Firefighter and chief of the Dix Hills Volunteer Fire Department. Farrell lost his life in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
Following his death, the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund was created. Since joining with the charity in 2005, the Jim Beam Bourbon company released special bottles featuring the charity and will donates $2 from each case sold to the Terry Farrell Firefighters Scholarship Fund.
The mission of the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund is to "assist firefighters and their families with educational, medical and equipment needs."http://www.terryfarrellfund.org/ Following its 2002 inception in New York, the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund has quickly grown into servicing the needs of firefighters across the United States. The fund awards educational scholarships to firefighters and their children, money and other resources to the families of firefighters hurt or killed in the line of duty and equipment such as fire trucks, hoses and gear.http://www.terryfarrellfund.org/wordpress/
In addition to supporting the work of firefighters across the nation, the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund also provides support to the National Donor Marrow Program via the The Terry Farrell Marrow Program. This work would be especially meaningful to Terry Farrell, since Terry Farrell donated bone marrow to a Nevada girl he had never met in 1993, saving her life.http://www.terryfarrellmarrowprogram.com/index.htm
Firefighting remains a tradition in the Farrell family. Terry Farrell's son Terrence “TJ” Farrell is now a member of the Dix Hills Fire Department.
