On May 20, 2009, four men were arrested in New York City on charges of plotting to bomb a Bronx synagogue and shoot down U.S. military planes with surface-to-air missiles. The alleged plot was exposed by a police informant from whom the suspects allegedly tried to procure weapons to carry out their operation.
