    In April of 2008, Smith's mother, Sheryll, has a premonition that he would either play in the Pro Bowl or the Super Bowl this season. At the time, neither option seemed likely, however Smith will join the Cardinals in Super Bowl XLII.   • Football Career

    Prior to playing in the NFL, Smith played college football for the Arizona State Sun Devils in the NCAA. He played as linebacker and blocking back, recording 22 carries for 129 yards and one touchdown.     Smith made his professional debut in 2002 with the New Orleans Saints, playing in 14 games and recording 29 carries and 12 receptions for 195 total yards. He continued with the Saints for three additional seasons before signing with the Cleveland Browns in 2004. He played in all 16 games over the next three seasons with the Browns, scoring a single touchdown.
