Terminator Salvation's co-op mode gives two players the chance to join the resistance together. Players have access to a wide variety of weapons to assist them in their missions, most of which are similar to modern real-life firearms. There are various rail sequence vehicle missions in which players control turrets to take down enemies coming at them from all sides. There's a lot of tactical strategy in multiplayer mode, and it's necessary to coordinate with the other squad member in order to survive. The game also features "Advanced Destructible Cover Gameplay." Using cover is a key gameplay element and the cover system is similar to that of Gears of War. The game environment is destructible and frustrated enemies can destroy objects that the player hides behind. For this reason, it's important to keep on the move, constantly looking for new hiding spots.
