About the Game
In 2016, Skynet artificial intelligence has decided that human beings no longer have a place in the world and sets out to exterminate every last one. The machines have advanced weaponry, including rudimentary plasma technology, while humans are armed only with standard firearms. Systematically, the resistance is being wiped out in what seems to be a losing battle. The Skynet army is composed of a variety of powerful machines, which range from lightly armed aerial units to formidable heavy combat machines. The T600, a hulking 7.5-foot tall, is predecessor to the familiar T800 model known from the films. Armed with a Gatling gun, its sole purpose is to hunt down and terminate mankind. Other foes include the four-legged T7-T, created specifically for the game, and the flying Aerostats, which make up for their weak armor by attacking in numbers.GamePro: Terminator Salvation Interview: You are John Connor (March 3, 2009)
While developed in tandem with the producers of the film, the Terminator Salvation game is set two years before the events of the movie. Players take on the role of John Connor, the reluctant leader of the resistance. He often has the assistance of a squadmate and it's necessary to strategize to successfully take down some of the more threatening enemies they encounter. It won't be possible to rely solely on firepower and, in addition to flanking maneuvers, players will need to effectively use cover in order to survive.TeamXbox: Exposed: Terminator Salvation's Cover System (April 29, 2009)

Terminator Salvation Enemies
- T7-T "Spider"
- The Terminator Seven-Tetrapod is ground machine built for offensive battle and will be a common sight throughout the game. It's equipped with a pair of medium-strength automatic weapons, but it can be outwitted with flanking maneuvers or a well-aimed grenade. Try to destroy their side armor and then shoot at the inner circuitry.
- Aerostat "Wasp"
- Used by Skynet as scouts, these flying machines have a weak weapon and armor, but their strength comes in numbers. They also make it tough to hide behind cover. They are susceptible to shotguns and can often be taken down with a single shot. They tend to dodge and bounce, making it wasteful to use automatic weapons on them.
- T600 "Endo"
- The strongest Terminator model in the game, the T600 is equipped with Gatling guns so it's best to deal with them from the safety of cover. Try weakening them first with grenades or, even better, a pipebomb; then shoot at the exposed circuitry with a regular weapon. Do not let them get close or John will quickly be cornered and wiped out.
- T600 "Skinjob"
- Covered with rubber skin in an attempt to look human, the Skinjob is a step closer to the T800s from the films. These machines are nearly identical to the Endo in terms of strengths and weaknesses.
- Hunter Killer
- This autonomous gunship is armed with plasma weaponry and presents a real danger for Resistance fighters. When encountered, there is usually a handy RPG lying somewhere nearby.
- Harvester
- This 60-foot Goliath is rarely encountered in the game. Equipped with plasma cannons, there is no point facing off with this machine. Simply turn tail and head the other way.
- Mototerminator
- Developed by Skynet specifically to keep up with Resistance vehicles, this motorcycle has front-mounted machine guns. When encountered in the game, however, the player has access to RPGs and a rapid-fire grenade launcher. So no worries!
