Terence Newman

National Football League cornerback Terence Newman plays for the Dallas Cowboys. Newman was sidelined during the 2008 season with an abdominal injury and may undergo season-ending surgery.

Newman saw a successful college football career with the Kansas State Wildcats. In 2002, he was selected for the Jim Thorpe Award, as the top defensive end in NCAA football. In 2003, Newman was selected fifth overall in the NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He made his NFL debut that same year, playing in all 16 regular season games and recording 78 tackles. Newman has played with the Cowboys in the years since, dressing for every game until the 2007 season, when he was limited to 13 of 16.
