Terdell Sands

Professional football defensive tackle Terdell Sands plays in the National Football League for the Oakland Raiders.

In February of 2009, reports circulated that Sands punched Raiders' punter Shane Lechler during a November 23, 2008, team flight from Denver. Sands was not disciplined for the incident.ProFootballTalk.com: Lechler Gets Laid Out

Prior to playing in the NFL, Turdell played one season of college football with the University of Tennessee Chattanooga Mocs in 1999. He totaled 36 tackles, two fumble recoveries, one sack and one forced fumble.Official Site of the Oakland Raiders: Terdell Sands

After college, Turdell was selected 243rd overall in the 2001 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs assigned him to the NFL Europa, before releasing him in 2002. After signing as a free agent with the Green Bay Packers, Turdell made his professional debut, playing in one game with the Packers. He was again released and signed with the Oakland Raiders on 2003.
