The Temple Owls Men's Basketball team plays in the Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Conference. Coach Dunphy is in his first year with Temple but has 18 years coaching experience, and is bringing the team to national prominence. The Owls clinched the conference by beating the Saint Joseph's Hawks Men's Basketball team 69-65. This will be Owls first appearance since 2001 in the NCAA Tournament. Temple has three alumni playing in the NBA which include Mardy Collins with the New York Knicks, Eddie Jones plays with the Dallas Mavericks and Aaron McKie with the Los Angeles Lakers.
