Background
In an attempt to capitalize on their younger fan base, DC Comics formed the Teen Titans in a 1964 issue of The Brave and the Bold. The team, consisting entirely of young sidekicks, were given their own series in 1966.During their first comic books, the Titans went around the world to help other teens, often focusing on the future responsibilities that they, as young adults, needed to prepare for.
In subsequent reincarnations of the series, the storylines have shifted to more basic good-versus-evil battles, but certain members, including Robin, Wonder Girl, and Kid Flash, have remained on the team roster.
