Teemu Selanne is a winger for the Anaheim Ducks in the National Hockey League. After months of considering retirement, Selanne returned to the Ducks in late January 2008, signing a one-year-deal.

Selanne entered the NHL as the 10th selection in the 1988 NHL draft. In his first year with the Winnipeg Jets, he scored 76 goals, an all-time record for rookies. After a series of injuries and limited success getting to the Stanley Cup playoffs, Selanne was traded to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 1996. He became close friends with Paul Kariya and played in Anaheim until 2001 when he was traded to the San Jose Sharks. Selanne returned to the renamed Ducks in 2006 and helped the team to their first Stanley Cup victory in 2007.After the Ducks were ousted in the first round of the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Selanne said he was not yet ready to commit to another year. Selanne has signed a "pro tryout deal" with the Ducks as the team attempts to clear salary cap space for his return. Career and Legacy
Selanne is one of the most potent scoring forwards of the 1990s and 2000s. He has signed several one-year contracts with the Anaheim Ducks and says he will either play for the Ducks or retire in the remainder of his career.
