Ted Strickland became the governor of Ohio on January 8, 2007. Although Strickland was a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton during the Democratic primary, he has been actively campaigning on behalf of Barack Obama. Strickland graduated from Northwest High School and went on to attend college in Kentucky at the Asbury College. In 1963, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in history. After graduating from Asbury, he made the decision to earn a Master of Divinity degree and did so at the Theological Seminary of Asbury. Actions While in Office
While in office, Strickland proposed and supported several initiatives. One of these is the approval for 250 new elementary, middle and high schools to be built with environmental technologies. State legislation also indicates that the first two years of tuition are frozen for public colleges and universities in Ohio.
