Ted Nugent

Categories: Entertainment | Music | Rock | Classic Rock
  • Ted Nugent is a hard rock guitarist and Detroit native who had hits with songs like "Cat Scratch Fever" and "Stranglehold" as a solo artist in the 1970s and '80s. In 1989 he founded the band Damn Yankees and scored his first ever number one hit with "High Enough."

In addition to his music career, Nugent is known for his outspoken opinions opposing drug and alcohol use, his conservative political views, and (as an avid hunter) his support for 2nd Amendment gun rights in the United States. His sometimes outrageous behavior has earned him several nicknames including "Terrible Ted," "The Nuge," "The Whackmaster" and "Motor City Madman."
