Ted Leonsis is a former Vice Chairman of AOL. He is also the owner of several sports teams, including the Washington Capitals of the NHL and the Washington Mystics of the WNBA. His company Lincoln Holdings, LLC also owns part of the Washington Wizards of the NBA, Washington, DC's Verizon Center and the Ticketmaster franchise in the Washington-Baltimore area. Leonsis is also an active philanthropist.

Since stepping down as Vice Chairman of AOL in 2006, Ted Leonsis has increased his activity in philanthropy. He has focused his philanthropic efforts on funding films, an activity he calls Filmathropy.The Financial Times: Shooting the message His first filmanthropic role was as producer of the documentary film Nanking', which is based on the novel The Rape of Nanking by Iris Chang.
