Ted Leo and The Pharmacists are an indie rock band from Washington DC. Group members have come and gone, but lead singer and guitarist Ted Leo has remained the band's frontman since its inception.
The band signed with [[Lookout! Records]] in 2001 and released their first full-length album, The Tyranny of Distance. That album was followed by 2003's Hearts of Oak and 2004's Shake the Streets. In 2006, the band left Lookout! as the label was experiencing financial trouble. They signed with Chicago-based Touch and Go and released Living with the Living in 2007.
The band is scheduled to open for Pearl Jam for six dates on their 2008 summer tour.
