Ted Kaufman

  • Ted Kaufman was named by Delaware Governor Ruth Ann Minner to fill Vice President Joe Biden's vacated Senate seat. Kaufman, a long-time Biden aide, has said he will hold onto the seat until 2010, at which point many believe Biden's son, Beau Biden, will run for the post in a special election.

  • Life and Career

    Kaufman served on Biden's Senate staff for 1973 to 1995, and was Biden's chief of staff for nineteen of those years. Prior to serving with Biden, Kaufman worked for DuPont and attended the Wharton School of Business. In 1995, he started up a consulting firm, Public Strategies, based in Wilmington, Delaware.   • Controversy over Appointment
