As the "Million Dollar Man" in the 1980s, Ted DiBiase was one of the most hated heels ("bad guys") in WWE history. Described as what Vince McMahon would be like if he wrestled at the time, DiBiase flaunted cash to the ring, even creating his own belt ("The Million Dollar Championship") at the peak of his career.
In one infamous 1988 TV taping, DiBiase tried to buy the WWE Championship after scheming with Andre the Giant to defeat Hulk Hogan. The WWE refused to recognize such a title change, so the championship was declared vacant.
In the early 1990s, DiBiase teamed with Irwin R. Schyster to form "Money Inc." They won the WWE Tag Team Championship three times, which would be the last title reigns DiBiase would have before his retirement from in-ring action in 1993.
He has since become a Christian minister, and continues to make frequent appearances on WWE programming.
