Actor Ted Danson played the role of the ex-baseball player/bartender "Sam Malone" on the NBC series Cheers from 1982 to 1993. He was nominated nine times for an Emmy Award and won twice for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. After Cheers ended he starred in another sitcom on CBS called Becker, which ran from 1998 to 2004.
