  • The Killings and First Capture

Bundy's earliest known murders occurred in the Seattle, Washington area in 1974 and involved female college students. Bundy's usual method of abducting and killing women was to wear an arm cast and claim that he needed help carrying some object or objects to his Volkswagen Beetle. In the fall of 1974, Bundy began attending the University of Utah Law School and continued to kill. He was arrested in August, 1975, after a police officer stopped his car and found a crowbar, ski mask, handcuffs, ice pick, and garbage bags in the vehicle. Bundy was connected through these objects to the attempted abduction and murder of Carol DaRonch in November, 1974, and was tried, convicted, and sentenced to 15 years in prison.CourtTV Crime Library: Ted Bundy, Notorious Serial Killer
