The Russian hockey team represents the Russian Federation in international ice hockey competitions including the Winter Olympics and the IIHF World Championships. The Russian team has won one silver and one bronze medal in the Winter Olympics since splitting from the Soviet Union in 1993. Prior to that split, the Soviet team dominated most international ice hockey competitions, earning a medal in each Winter Olympics including seven gold, one silver and one bronze.
