The Frank McCourt memoir Teacher Man chronicles his adventures and challenges as a teacher in the New York City school system.
Plot Synopsis
Teacher Man is the third installment of Frank McCourt's memoir series. The first two books were the critically acclaimed Angela's Ashes and 'Tis. The book covers his thirty years as an educator battling administrators, lack of resources, and ill tempered students.
Critical Reception
While Teacher Man did not achieve as much financial success as his previous work Angela's Ashes, Teacher Man received favorable reviews. The Los Angeles Times declared that is was "the best work in McCourt's trilogy", and The Washington Post hailed the tale as a "beguiling and moving story".
