Tea Party Patriots
The Tea Party Patriots of 2009 are a loosely affiliated group of conservative to libertarian leaning Americans that are sincerely and genuinely angry about perceived high tax rates and out of control government spending. They take their inspiration from the 1773 Boston Tea Party "taxation without representation" protests. It is, however, important to note that the Tea Party Patriots only came into being in 2009 after eight years of ignoring the Bush II administration, which increased spending, deficits and debt to record levels and greatly expanded both the size and power of the government to unprecedented levels. The only conclusion is that the Tea Party Patriots are really opposed to the Obama administration and Democrats and that balancing the budget or opposing the expansion of the Federal government is an entirely secondary concern.
