Major League Baseball pitcher Taylor Tankersley currently plays for the Florida Marlins.
Prior to his MLB career, Tankersley played baseball while attending the University of Alabama. He was first drafted in the 2001 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals, but chose to continue playing in college instead. Tankersley was drafted again in 2004 by the Florida Marlins, this time signing with them on July 12, 2004. After the draft Tankersley spent two years in the minor leagues before being called up in 2006. He made his MLB debut on June 3, 2006 and played in 49 games that season.
Tankersley spent much of the 2007 season with the Marlins, playing in 67 games, missing time for an injury and a brief stint with the Marlin's AAA affiliate.
