Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is a country music singer-songwriter whose self-titled debut album sold more than 3 million copies. The album was released on October 24, 2006. Swift's second full length album Fearless, released on November 11, 2008, spent seven consecutive weeks at the top spot on the Billboard U.S. pop albums chart. Swift also had a Christmas CD that sold exclusively at Target.c

By the age of 18, Swift had all four of her singles hit the Billboard Top 40. She was nominated for a "Best New Artist" Grammy award in 2008. Swift won the award for Best Female video at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 13, 2009. Her moment was interrupted by Kanye West, who took the microphone and announced that Beyonce should have won. After the incident, Swift composed herself and went on to perform "You Belong With Me." In November of 2010, she won an American Music Award for Favorite Country Female Artist.c

Swift participated in a role for the movie Hannah Montana: The Movie. Her portion was filmed on June 9, 2008. She has stated she is good friends with Miley Cyrus and reported being happy to be in the film.c She had a role in the 2010 movie Valentines Day  as a high school student.c

In January 2009, Variety reported that popular teen singer Taylor Swift appeared in an episode of the CBS crime drama CSI. Swift played a teenager whose family runs a seedy Las Vegas motel. The CSI episode in which she appeared aired on March 5, 2010 and was the episode was called Turn Turn Turn.c

Swift was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on January 10, 2010. She had been a host in November of 2009 where she was in some skits which made fun of her love life. The show also brought up the Kanye West episode in which he interrupted her during the Video Music Awards show.c

It was announced on May 3, 2010, that Taylor Swift was the newest "fresh face" of Cover Girl.

In 2007, Swift was chosen as Top New Female Artist by the Academy of Country Music Awards. Additionally, Swift was voted Favorite Female Artist in the country music category on the American Music Awards on November 23, 2008.c

In 2009, Swift won the ACM, Album of the Year and the Crystal Milestone Award.

In March of 2010, it was announced that Taylor Swift was nominated for four Academy of Country Music awards for 2010. These nominations included awards for Top Female Vocalist, Entertainer of the Year, Song of the Year, and Video of the Year categories. Swift's song "You Belong With Me" earned her nominations in both the Song and Video of the Year categories.The awards were broadcast live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on April 18 on CBS. She won in all four categories.c

In November of 2010, Taylor Swift won an American Music Award for Favorite Female Country Artist.cTaylor Swift appeared at the awards as a performer, as well. She sang "Back to December."c She wore a black tuxedo pant suit and her hair was pulled back in a ponytail. The 38th edition of the American Music Awards, took place on Sunday, November 21, 2010 aired by ABC.c
