Taylor Swift Elle Magazine

On the front cover of the April, 2010 edition of Elle Magazine is Taylor Swift. She is the recently five times nominated Academy of Country Music Awards country singer. Also Swift has a featured interview within the magazine on a variety of interesting topics (detailed below).

Commentators have said that a new raunchier, sexier side of Taylor Swift is shown on the front cover. Her signature blonde ringlets are gone and are replaced by a wavy/curly hairstyle, which breaks free of any confines. http://www.stylelist.com/2010/03/05/taylor-swift-talks-heartbreak-straightens-hair-for-elle-magazin/

Swift features in one of two styles on the front cover of Elle Magazine. Swift is either power dressed in black leather or sparkling in a silver sequined dress. Inside the magazine is a totally transformed Swift, who now has straightened hair, a blunt bangs hairstyle and a high fashion attitude that is a little nostalgic.

Taylor Swift Interview

The interview is summarised in the text below:

Asked on who she thought was hot, Swift replied "Um, well…Taylor Lautner." The interviewer went on to talk about how fearless Swift was to which she said "I overthink everything. I overanalyze everything."

The interviewer moved on to talk about Swift's greatest fear, which provoked the following response from Swift: "Me making a bunch of bad decisions and embarking on a painful, slow, devastating tailspin."

Swift went on to talk about how hard it can be living in the media spotlight at times: "I’ve had countless opportunities to do some really bad things. And then people start combing through everything I do trying to find the next mistake and misperception, which leads to more scrutiny. Like, if I go to a bar, even if I’m not drinking, who’s to say that a source isn’t going to say that I was doing something I shouldn’t have been doing? So it’s not only about your own moral compass, but the moral compasses of other people that you don’t know."

As a child Swift had always wanted to visit Nashville. This was a featured part of the interview, where Swift said "I just got it into my head that there was this magical place that I needed to go to because that was where dreams come true."

Although Swift at a young age has not had many relationship breakups she did talk about how these can provide good material for her music: "I like to categorize the various levels of heartbreak. I’ve only had that happen once. A letdown is worth a few songs. A heartbreak is worth a few albums."
