Taylor Buchholz is a right-handed pitcher for the Colorado Rockies. Buchholz was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 6th round of the 2000 amateur draft, but he never played for the Phillies. After three years in the Phillies farm system, the team traded him along with Ezequiel Astacio and Brandon Duckworth to the Houston Astros, for Billy Wagner. He made his MLB debut with the Houston Astros on April 7, 2006. Buchholz played one season in Houston, starting 19 games, and posting a record of 10-6. The next season, the Astros traded him to the Colorado Rockies along with Jason Hirsh, and Willy Tavaras, in exchange for Miguel Asencio and Jason Jennings.
Strengths
Buchholz has a very good 90+ mph fastball, and an even better curve-ball. he is effective pitching to both righties and lefties[1].
Weaknesses
Buchholz is not as effective when pitch with runners in scoring position[1].
