Tay Zonday

Tay Zonday is an Internet personality and musician best known for the video to his original composition, "Chocolate Rain." The song lyrics, a commentary on race relations, were cryptic and strange, and the peculiarity of the video was highlighted by Zonday's erratic, idiosyncratic performance. (He would periodically lean back from the microphone in order to breath, and uses a deep baritone on the vocals).

The song initially became popular on the Internet forum 4chan before gaining a wider audience on blogs such as Best Week Ever, radio shows such as The Opie and Anthony Show and guest TV appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and the Weezer music video for the song "Pork and Beans". Zonday used his newfound fame to arrange some sponsored and promotional appearances as well, including a featured role in the Vizio Super Bowl Ad starring Beyonce Knowles and a campaign to promote Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr. Pepper.

Zonday remains active on his YouTube channel, where he continues to release new music. In March 22, 2010, he released a new song to promote his friend's website, Musicolio.com.
