Target stores are a chain of large all-purpose discount stores that are located across the United States. While there is a Target.com online store for shopping 24 hours a day, many people need to know local store hours in order to have products in-hand the same day.
Target store hours will vary by location. Most every Target location will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. On Easter Sunday, most of the stores will open in the afternoon. For all holiday hours, which may be extended or restricted, customers can reach local stores via the phone numbers listed in local directories or on the main Target website.
Christmas Hours
In order to stay competitive during the Christmas season, Target extended its Christmas holiday hours in 2009 more than it had in previous years. In 2008 the retailer kept the majority of the stores open on Christmas Eve until 11pm. In 2009, the closing hours for Christmas Eve were extended until midnight. This parallels extended holiday hours that were created by Wal-Mart and other chain stores in 2009.
