Tantallon Castle was built in the mid-14th century in Scotland and remained a stronghold of the Douglas dynasty until being sold at the turn of the 18th century. Located two miles east or North Berwick, the castle sits on Bass Rock. An attack from Oliver Cromwell's British army in 1651 destroyed much of the castle's architecture.
In May 2008, tourist Christopher Aitchison took a photograph which appears to show a man in a ruffed period outfit looking out of one of the castle's windows. Aitchison claims he has not tampered with the photograph and several digital photography professionals and analysts have confirmed the photo's legitimacy.CNN: Eerie figure haunts Scottish castle
Ghost Photo
Tourist Christopher Aitchison took a photograph in May 2008 of what appears to be a man wearing a period ruffed outfit, staring out of one of the Tantallon Castle windows. Aitchison claims he had never tampered with the photograph and photography analysts have collaborated and confirmed his claim. The photo was released to the public on March 27, 2009 by psychology professor and paranormal academic Richard Wiseman. Some people think the image shows nothing more than a reflection off of rocks in the castle.
