    Prior to joining the NFL, Johnson played college football with the Washington Huskies in the NCAA. In 2003, he was selected to the second-team All-Pac-10.     Johnson made his professional debut with the Chicago Bears in 2004, playing in all 16 games and recording 12 tackles. His numbers continued to improve with the Bears, tallying a career-best 26 tackles, 3.5 sacks, one safety and one pass deflection in 2006.   • Trouble Off the Field

    In 2005, Johnson was charged with misdemeanor gun possession in Chicago and placed on probation for 18 months. He was arrested again in 2006, after allegedly assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, however the charges were later dropped. Later in 2006, police searched Johnson's home, finding several loaded guns. During the same search, Johnson's body guard, William Posey was found in possession of marijuana.

    Posey was killed just days after the search at the Ice Bar in Chicago. Johnson was in court again that same month and placed on home confinement. In 2007, he pleaded guilty to additional weapons possessions charges and was sentenced to four months plus 45 days in jail. Following his release from jail, he was cut by the Chicago Bears and suspended eight games of the NFL season.
