Tammy Wynette is an American country singer-songwriter, known as the "First Lady of Country." Her first single, "Apartment #9," was released in late 1966. "Stand by Your Man," was one of the biggest selling hit singles by a woman in the history of the country music. She was the first female country artist to earn a gold record.
