Tammy Faye Messner rose to fame as the wife of televangelist Jim Bakker and as a partner in his Praise the Lord Ministries. In 1987, the ministry disbanded and Jim Bakker was indicted on charges of embezzlement. The couple divorced in 1991. Tammy Faye went on to record several Christian faith albums and participated in the reality show The Surreal Life. In 1993, she married contractor Roe Messner. Tammy Faye Messner died on June 21, 2007, from complications of colon and lung cancer.
