Tamera Mowry is an American actress and identical twin sister of Tia Mowry. In her first major roll she portrayed "Tamera Campbell" in the sitcom Sister, Sister.
Early Years
Tamara Mowry is the older than her twin sister by two minutes. She and her sister were born in Gelhausen, Germany while her Italian-American father was stationed there.
Her father, Timothy Mowry, was in the army but later became a police officer in California. Her mother, Darlene Flowers, is African American and works as a security guard and Tamera Mowry's manager. Tamera Mowry has three siblings, her twin sister Tia Mowry, and her two brothers Tavior Mowry and Tahj Mowry.
Acting Career
Tamara Mowry and her sister got into acting at a young age, getting mostly one scene rolls and commercials in their pre-teen years. She did commercials for Kooshlings, Old Navy, Double Mint Gum and Frosted Cheerios.
In the 1990s she and her sister were part of a musical group called The Voices.
From 1994 to 1999 she starred in the series Sister, Sister. She acted in several films after that including Seventeen Again (2000), The Hot Chick (2002), and the Disney television movies Twitches (2005) and Twitches Too (2007).
