  • Tamale Pie is a spin off from the traditional Mexican tamales. Made with cornmeal, ground beef, tomatoes, onion, olives, corn, and spices, topped with cheese and baked in a casserole dish.

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degree Celsius.
    2. In a large frying pan, cook meat, onion and garlic until done. Drain off the fat.
    3. Add tomatoes, creamed corn, milk, olives, eggs and cornmeal to meat mixture, bring to a boil.
    4. Pour into a greased casserole dish.
    5. Bake for 25 minutes
    6. Add grated cheese on top, bake for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
