Tallahassee is the state capital of Florida and home to Florida State University and Florida A&M; University. The city is served by the Tallahassee Regional Airport and is considered to be one of the fastest growing high tech economies in the state. The name "Tallahassee" is a Muskogean Indian word meaning "old fields."
