Skills are discovered and learned while using equipment throughout Tales of Vesperia gameplay. Each skill has a designated number of Learning Points (LP). LP increase as battles are fought. These learning points are then assigned to unlearned skills. Once sufficient LP are gained, the player may exchange Skill Points (SP) to use the skill without equipping the corresponding weapon. SP increases with leveling. If one of your characters is equipped with a weapon that is assigned a specific skill, they can use that skill without incurring any SP cost.
Characters learn new skills and attacks, in addition to acquiring better weapons, as the game progresses.IGN: Tales of Vesperia Review (August 22, 2008) A game DLC will enable players to purchase skills, gold and level ups in exchange for Microsoft gamerscore points.1up.com: Tales of Vesperia DLC Will Let You Buy Levels, Gold, and Skills (August 22, 2008) Game items available for purchase are:
