• Combos are an important component of the Tales of Vesperia battle sequences. Because the game is played in real-time, the sequences are less strategy intensive and more focused on understanding your character's available moves to create combos and special attacks. Strategy comes into play during the customization of your character to fit your fighting style. To create a combo, use "B" in combination with "L" to experiment. Keep in mind that powerful combos consist of linking a normal attack, a Base Arte and an Arcane Arte.

• Combo Tips

  • The over-limit bar on the left hand side of the screen indicates when you are able to trigger an over-limit. When the bar fills, press down on the directional pad and usean Arcane or Altered Arte followed by a Burst Arte.

  • Over-limits are available in levels one through four.

  1. In level one, you have the ability to attack in addition to the Burst Arte.
  2. Level two deals more damage.
  3. No TP consumption in level three.
  4. Level four, your party is invincible.

  • If a red, blue or green symbol displays above an enemy during a battle sequence, hit "RT" quickly. This triggers a Fatal Strike, which does massive damage. You will then earn a higher grade at the end of the battle, more LP and more EXP.
