A Tablet PC is a mobile computer with a touchscreen that may be operated with one's finger and/or stylus, and thus requires no external keyboard. It is consequently solid and flat (hence the name "tablet"). Some are laptops that convert to a tablet via a rotating monitor while others are a fixed flat panel. The latter are often referred to as "Slate PCs".
