  • The Syracuse University men's basketball team plays in the Big East Conference. The school has won three National Championships, two of which before the tournament system was adopted, with the most recent title coming in 2003. Jim Boeheim has been the head coach of the team since 1976, and is one of the longest continuously tenured coaches in the country. The Orange play home games on-campus at the Carrier Dome.

    The program was one of the founding members of the Big East Conference, winning five Big East Tournament titles and seven regular season league championships. Among the most notable players to wear and play for "The Orange" include Carmelo Anthony, Dave Bing, Derrick Coleman, Rony Seikaly, Billy Owens, John Wallace, Danny Schayes, Leo Rautins, and Dwayne "Pearl" Washington.
