Sylvester Croom serves as the running backs' coach for the St. Louis Rams in the National Football League. He was hired by the Rams on January 29, 2009.
Croom formerly served as the college football coach for the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the NCAA. Coaching Career
Croom began coaching while attending college, acting as a graduate assistant centers coach with the Alabama Crimson Tide in 1976. Following school, he took a full time linebackers coach job with the Tide, which he held from 1977 to 1986, working under legendary coach Paul W. "Bear" Bryant. In 1987, Croom moved to the NFL, acting as a running backs coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers and Green Bay Packers, as well as a four-year stint with the Detroit Lions as an offensive coordinator.
