  • Sydney Harbor Bridge is a steel arc bridge and is a renowned international symbol of Australia, often called "The Coathanger".
  • Construction

    Started in 1926, and completed in 1934, It took up to 1400 men at times working on the bridge. The foundation is 39 feet deep set in sandstone, and contains approx. six million hand driven rivets. They made the sections to the bridge on site but 80% of the steel had to come from England.

    The Bridge Climb takes you along catwalks, up ladders, and steadily to the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, while conquering the upper arch of the Bridge. The view is breath taking. The Discovery Climb takes you inside the workings of the bridge, within its very heart, for a behind-the-scenes tour. You will be climbing upon steep staircases that join the two arches, both tours and led in small groups. The view of the famous Sydney Opera House is astounding from both tours. There will be a 80 million dollar make-over to strengthen the bridge for the next era.
