Swing sets are play structures designed to help children exercise and play. Many have swings, slides, climbing walls, forts, jungle gyms and more. They are a terrific way for children to get exercise, build strength and use their imagination. Swing sets can be found on most any school playground, park and in many backyards.
Safety
To prevent injuries ground under and around a swing set should be filled with a shock-absorbing material. The National Safety Commission recommends the ground have at least 12 inches of cover to prevent injury. Schools and day care centers are required to meet his recommendation.
