  • Tennis Career

    Kuznetsova joined the Women's Tennis Association in 2000. She won her first titles in 2002, taking home wins at tour stops in Helsinki and Bali. Kuznetsova saw further success in 2003. She reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon and and was the runner-up in the doubles tournament at the U.S. Open, reaching seventh place in the double rankings in September.

    At the 2004 Summer Olympics, Kuznetsova competed but was eliminated in the semifinals. She went on to win the U.S. Open in 2004 and finished the season ranked fifth on the singles chart. Kuznetsova didn't see that same success in 2005, when she finished the year in 18th place.
