On April 15, 2009, Roesgen reported live from a "tea party" protest in Chicago. Apparently upset by what she called the "Obama bashers," Roesgen seemed to lose her patience with the crowd. Towards the end of her segment, Roesgen, clearly frustrated, labeled the crowd as "anti-government," "anti-CNN" and said the event was "highly promoted by the right wing conservative network FOX."

Some commentators and bloggers noted her apparent sarcasm and said she was "FOX-bashing."Hot Air: Unreal: CNN Reporter Openly Contemptuous of Tea Parties (April 15, 2009)
