On April 15, 2009, Roesgen reported live from a "tea party" protest in Chicago. Apparently upset by what she called the "Obama bashers," Roesgen seemed to lose her patience with the crowd. Towards the end of her segment, Roesgen, clearly frustrated, labeled the crowd as "anti-government," "anti-CNN" and said the event was "highly promoted by the right wing conservative network FOX."

CNN Tea Party Report
On Tax Day 2009, April 15, protesters gathered across the country to demonstrate high taxes and excessive government spending in what were called "tea parties." The Fox News Channel aired full coverage of the events with reporters stationed in different cities. Glenn Beck hosted from the Alamo in Texas, while another reporter was at the Capital building in Sacramento, California. Other stations, like MSNBC and CNN provided less coverage. Roesgen reported live from a protest in Chicago. Some commentators and bloggers noted her apparent sarcasm and said she was "FOX-bashing."Hot Air: Unreal: CNN Reporter Openly Contemptuous of Tea Parties (April 15, 2009) -
