Susan Dey as an American television actress. She is best known for roles in two popular prime time television series.
She played the role of Laurie Partridge on the 1970's sitcom The Partridge Family, and then portrayed attorney Grace Van Owen on the 1980's drama L.A. Law.
On March 2, 2010, Dey was noticeably absent from a reunion of cast members from The Partridge Family during a segment on The Today Show.http://dailypostal.com/2010/03/02/partridge-family-susan-dey-not-appearing/ Dey played the daughter of Shirley Jones on the series for five seasons.
After appearing sporadically in made-for-TV movies, she reemerged in the national spotlight with her role on L.A. Law. She was nominated for an Emmy Award for outstanding lead actress in a drama series three times during the series run, and earned the Golden Globe for actress in a leading role, drama series, in 1987.
Despite her success on two prime time television shows, she has stayed out of the public spotlight, and hasn't appeared on-camera since a guest appearance on the television series Third Watch in 2004. Dey was born in as Susan Hallock Smith on December 10, 1952, in Pekin, Illinois. She has been married to Bernard Sofronski since 1988, and it is her second marriage.
