Survivor is gearing up for the premiere of its 22nd season, Survivor: Redemption Island. The first episode will air Wednesday February 16, 2011 at 8PM EST.

Survivor Redemption Island

The 22nd season of Survivor, Survivor: Redemption Island has a new twist to the show's usual format. In this upcoming version, anyone who is voted off the main island will be sent to Redemption Island. When the next person is voted off the main island, they join the first person on Redemption Island and face them in a one-on-one challenge. The winner remains on Redemption Island. Everyone who is voted off the main island must go to Redemption Island and survive the one-on-one challenge to remain there. Survivor Nicaragua Recap

The season finale aired December 19, 2010, and Survivor Nicaragua's survivor, Judson “Fabio” Birza, was crowned! The twenty-first season of Survivor was based in the nation of Nicaragua, and encompassed 39 days of play and 15 total episodes. Twenty survivors were competing, and were initially divided into two teams based on age. The younger tribe, called La Flor was comprised of contestants age 30 or younger. The older tribe, called Espada, was comprised of contestants age 40 or older. Jeff Probst returned again as host of the show.http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor/
