  • Survivor is the hit CBS reality television series that places contestants in remote locations for 39 days and tests their ability to "survive" with the goal of the game being to "outwit, outlast and outplay" their competitors.     On the May 17, 2009 finale, Jeff Probst announced J.T. Thomas Jr. as the winner of the 18th season.

    Probst won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Program in 2009.

  • How It Works

    The cast is dropped in a remote location and split into two tribes. The tribes battle each week for immunity, and the loosing tribe must vote out one of their own members. Half way into the season, the tribe merge to form one large tribe. Individual immunity is the only guarantee of not being voted off. In recent seasons, they have added an hidden immunity idol that can also be put into play before the votes are read, but after the votes are cast. In the finale, the final two contestants face the eliminated contestants as they decide who is the ultimate survivor.
