Gameplay
The setting of Supreme Commander is the future, where people are able to travel through the galaxy quickly using a quantum tunnel. Colonies have been created by humanoids which quantum-traveled there. The Supreme Commander is divided into three factions, United Earth Federation (or 'UEF'), Cybran Nation (originally called the Recyclers) and Aeon Illuminate. The game begins with each of the factions being at war for over a millennium. The player decides which faction to play and the course of play.
Expansions
- Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance was released on November 6, 2007. It included engine improvements, added 110 new units and new game mechanics, including orbital installations and enhanced information warfare. The expansion was also released as a standalone game, which added a new faction, Seraphim.
- Supreme Commander: Experimentals was said to in the works as of November 20, 2007. A release date and details of enhancements have not been released.
