Supernatural is about two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, who are on a crusade trying to track down and destroy paranormal creatures. The show was renewed by The CW on February 24, 2009.Blogcritics.org: Supernatural Renewed for Season Five (February 25, 2009)

It all started when Dean Winchester (played by Jensen Ackles) and Sam Winchester (played by Jared Padalecki) were kids; Sam, an infant and Dean just four years old. In the early morning of November 2, 1983, Mary Winchester, their mother, was murdered by a demon who had shining yellow eyes.

Years later, Dean shows up at Sam's college apartment to let them know their dead was on a "hunting trip" and has gone missing. Dean had spent the majority of his life hunting and killing supernatural entities and carrying out a search for the thing that killed Mary Winchester.

The Winchester's father has gone missing and Dean needs Sam's help to find him.

• Episode 1, Pilot: After years apart, Sam is visited by older brother Dean who divulges that their father has gone missing. As their search for their father begins the boys run into the "White Woman" an apparition who discovered her husband was unfaithful and killed her own children. After a narrow victory Sam returns home just in time to witness a tragedy.

• Episode 2, Wendigo: Following coordinates found in their father's journal, Sam and Dean run into a campsite where some campers have gone missing. After investigating the brothers realize they are hunting a Wendigo; a creature that has extended its life by eating human flesh.

• Episode 3, Dead in the Water: Traveling through Wisconsin, Sam and Dean come to a small town where people have been disappearing in the local lake without a trace. The brothers eventually discover a connection between those who have been disappearing and they must race against time to stop the creature behind them.
